It was finallly time to wrap up the tour. Check out the size of the front door! Actually I'm not sure if this was the front door as we could not go through it.
We take to the road again and head for Dachau were we will start the day tomorrow. We did not prebook a hotel room so we drove around and stopped at a few before finding one that had two rooms left. One was small and the other was smaller, typical of German hotels. *** Gina and I took the larger room with the agreement that we would also take all the kids. The hotel had a workout room and pool so I went to the former and the kids went to the later where they used up what little energy was left. *** Our room had a key lock that did not self lock when the door was shut but rather required the key, of which we only had one, to be turned. Gina and I went to our room for a bit of quiet time before all the kids came up and we let Ryan take the key with him so they could get in later after swimming and playing in Mike and Amanda's room. Not until the lock clicked and Ryan was gone for a few minutes did it dawn on me that we were locked in. Hmmm, I'll just call their room. No go... the phone had much more static than dial tone and I could not figure out how to direct dial their room or even get the front desk. So we wound up locked in the room with nothing to do but watch one of the 3 or 4 German TV stations. Fortunately there was a German version of some cop car chase show that was pretty self-explanatory without understanding the audio. About an hour later Ryan came back up along with the other kids and we went to sleep more or less (it was a very warm night and the pillows were made of some material that instantly turned to paper thin padding as soon as your head hit them).
