I think this was Santa Claus going undercover and getting a head start on Christmas shopping.
We got some fruit from a street vendor then headed over to St. Peters Church. We went to the top of its tower but this time there was no elevator... just 307 steep, creaky, and cramped steps. You had to pause and flatten against the wall to let people coming down the other direction get by. The view was similar to that from the Rathaus Tower. *** The interior of St. Peters was a sight to behold. This was the first of many cathedrals we would go through. Pictures can't really do it justice but looking at the small people should give some idea of the size. *** Inside the church was a picture that showed how the church looked after the bombings of WW II. It is amazing how well they were able to reconstruct and restore it.
