On one side it is a sheer cliff down to the valley floor, something like 1200 feet below us. The other side is not much better. They have installed a small rail across the most dangerous looking section. I notice the paint has been completely rubbed off.
We eat lunch and relax in the shade while Kyle tries to hand feed one of the many chipmunks running around. I've never seen such tame chipmunks. Later I see the note on the trailhead sign saying to not feed them- oh well.
