We reached Ooh-Aah point and took a rest. The elevation here is 6320 feet.
We continued on to Cedar Ridge, elevation 6060 feet, 1.5 miles into the trail. This is a large flat area (one of the few!) on the trail where the trail veers off from the canyon wall and starts to follow a ridge down to the bottom of the canyon. We found a nice spot of shade close to the edge (but not too close as the rock was very fine and would slide easily) and ate lunch. It was really neat to rest, eat, breath the fresh clear air, and look both up and down at the immensity of the canyon.
