We drove through many little towns, most of them seem locked in time. How long has it been since you saw a fire truck with a "bubble-gum" light on top?
Our last stop on the way back to Stowe was Barre Vermont - home of the "Rock of Ages" granite company. The first challenge was finding it - our map did not have the street names so we had to feel our way there. *** Now I know this sounds like the kind of thing I (Keith) would be much more interested in than Gina but she really got into this. The quarry gives tours and has a pretty neat visitors center.
A group of school kids were there and the quarry gives out free samples. These kids thought they had died and gone to heaven when they found out they could take "samples" home. Being kids they had to take the biggest pieces they could.
