Today was "driving day"- we were going to drive south on the famous route 100 down to the Green Mountains. We could see some fog off in the distance from the hotel so we took a back route around to route 100 in search of some interesting fog shots.
Surprisingly the areas to the south of us had already reached that "just after peak" point where there are more leaves on the ground than in the trees so it was not as scenic as we had hoped. The best colors seemed to be more up north towards Stowe. *** We stopped at Moss Falls (yes, there are two Moss Falls in Vermont, only about 60 miles apart and on the same road!). This part of the Green Mountains were still in full fall color.
