We had a large (especially by European standards) room looking up the valley.
The view from our balcony of Staubbach falls which plummet over 1000'. The Lauterbrunnen valley is famous for its waterfalls - some 72 of them tumble over the sides of the cliffs.
After stashing our stuff in the room, we headed up to Murren which is a small village that sits on a ledge above the Lauterbrunnen valley. You get there by taking a long (very long) funicular that goes up the steep side of the valley right behind our hotel. The front of the funicular has a big cargo tray for taking supplies to the top.
